Terms and conditions

The CALIMANI online shop (the “Site”) is operated by CALIMANI DEMO SRL, registered office at 7 Luminii Street, Bucharest, Romania, Trade Register no. J40/0000/2026, VAT ID RO00000000 (“CALIMANI”, “we” or “us”).

• Buyer – the individual or company placing an order on the Site.
• Consumer – a Buyer acting for purposes outside their trade, business, craft or profession, as defined by Romanian Government Emergency Ordinance (GEO) no. 34/2014.
• Order – a firm request to purchase one or more Products, sent through the Site.
• Contract – the distance contract concluded between CALIMANI and the Buyer through the Site.
• Products – the sunglasses, accessories and services (such as fittings at the atelier) shown on the Site.

By using the Site and placing an order, you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted these terms, together with our Privacy policy and Cookie policy.

We may update these terms when the law or the way we work changes. Each order is governed by the version in force on the day it was placed.

You can order without an account. If you create one, you are responsible for keeping your sign-in details confidential and for any activity in your account. Please tell us straight away if you notice unauthorised use.

We may suspend an account used abusively or fraudulently, after notifying its holder.

Placing an order takes four steps:

1. add the products you want to your bag, choosing frame and lens;
2. fill in your contact, delivery and billing details (as an individual or a company, with VAT ID and Trade Register number);
3. choose a delivery method and a payment method;
4. review the summary and confirm the order.

Once placed, you receive an email acknowledging your order. The contract is formed when we confirm dispatch. We may decline an order for good reason (sold-out edition, incomplete details, suspected fraud); we will let you know and refund anything already paid.

Prices are shown in Romanian lei (RON) and include VAT. Delivery costs and any handling fees are shown separately before you confirm the order.

CALIMANI models are made in small, numbered editions. If an edition sells out after you order, we will tell you and offer an alternative or a full refund — your choice.

If a price is obviously wrong (say, a technical glitch shows an absurdly low price), we will contact you before dispatch and you can either confirm at the correct price or cancel at no cost.

• Card (Visa, Mastercard) – handled by an authorised payment processor with 3-D Secure authentication. CALIMANI never sees your full card details.
• Cash on delivery – pay the courier on delivery, in cash or by card. A handling fee of 9.99 lei applies and is shown in your bag.

Your invoice is issued electronically and emailed to you with the dispatch confirmation.

We deliver across Romania via Sameday, FAN Courier, Cargus or easybox lockers. Delivery is free on orders over 500 lei; below that it costs between 12.99 and 19.99 lei depending on the method.

Estimated delivery is 24 hours (Sameday) or 1–2 working days (FAN Courier, Cargus). Risk of loss or damage passes to you once the products are in your possession. Full details are on the Returns and warranty page.

As a Consumer, you have a legal right to withdraw from the contract within 14 calendar days of receiving your products, without giving a reason (GEO no. 34/2014). CALIMANI voluntarily extends this to 30 days, with free returns.

Every product carries the 2-year legal guarantee of conformity from delivery, under GEO no. 140/2021. It does not cover normal wear and tear or damage caused by misuse. Fittings at the atelier are free for the life of the frame.

The CALIMANI name, logo, photographs, renders, copy and Site design belong to us or are used under licence. You may not reproduce, distribute or use them commercially without our written consent.

We work hard to keep the information on the Site (descriptions, measurements, colours) accurate. Colours may look slightly different on your screen. We are not liable for temporary outages caused by maintenance or by factors beyond our control.

Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a Consumer.

We process your personal data in line with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR). What we collect, why, and your rights are explained in our Privacy policy.

Neither party is liable for failing to perform its obligations because of force majeure, as defined by the Romanian Civil Code. The affected party must notify the other within 5 days of the event.

These terms are governed by Romanian law. We always try to settle any complaint amicably: write to salut@calimani.demo and we will reply within one working day.

If we can’t reach a solution, you can turn to Romania’s National Authority for Consumer Protection through its alternative dispute resolution (ADR/SAL) procedure (opens in a new tab). Any unresolved dispute falls under the jurisdiction of the Romanian courts.
